About Ray Runion
|
Ray Runion is the craftsman creating all the wooden items at Truly-Life with the exception of the drink coasters. He is the third generation of wood craftsmen in the Runion family. He built his existing home on family land. Both his grandfather Ed and his father Sterling constructed their own homes.Ray started working on his father's sawmill at a very young age. He developed an interest for woodworking around the age of thirty. Developing his craft has ranged from buying items for patterns and learning from 'old-timers'.All the heirloom items are made with solid wood, from a forest that is harvested and re-seeded in the Shenandoah Valley. The native trees are located within ten miles of Runion's sawmill and the wood working shop. Each wooden item comes with a detailed description about the type of tree and the forest location in Virginia where the tree grew. Ray hasn't changed his attitude much, items are made when he feels like working at his home in the Shenandoah Valley. |
